Back & Hip Pain

Stiffness and pain in the back or hips are often compensations for something deeper. The cranium, TMJ, and respiratory system play a crucial role in how the body organizes movement.

When these areas are balanced, the nervous system feels safe – and tension throughout the body can naturally release.

After breaking my back many years ago, I’ve spent over 30 years studying and treating spinal and pelvic dysfunction from every angle. Through that experience, I’ve learned that back and hip pain are rarely the real problem – they’re usually symptoms of an underlying imbalance.

Even something as simple as daily activities or squats performed with poor form can contribute to this dysfunction. I see it all the time. Correcting training patterns and movement quality is essential to resolving hip and lower back pain.

At The Happy Body, we focus on restoring harmony through the cranium, jaw, respiratory system and vestibular (inner ear) systems – combined with precise movement retraining.

By addressing these key areas, we help the body realign, reduce compensation patterns, and restore effortless, pain-free movement.

If you’re here, chances are you’ve tried everything. You’ve been told “it’s just tight muscles” or “you’ll just have to manage it.” Maybe you’ve spent months (or years) going to appointments without much change.

That’s where I come in. I don’t just treat the sore spot. I look at your whole body and nervous system to find what’s really driving your pain. And when we find it? We can create a treatment that addresses the root cause of your concern.
